Granular films SiO2(Co) exhibit unusual magnetic and magnetotransport properties which are strongly dependent on the composition of film material a substrate. For example, injection magnetoresistance (IMR) coefficient reaches giant (GIMR) value 105% at room temperature in an n-GaAs However, IMR effect is negligible case similar granular deposited n-Si In this report, structural Si substrate studied with aim to understand cause difference coefficients for thin substrates. Investigations were carried out using complementary methods Polarized Neutron Reflectometry, Grazing Incidence Small-Angle X-ray Scattering, Scanning Electron Microscope, SQUID magnetometry. It shown that interface layer between exhibits metallic rather than eliminates GIMR effect. This associated diffusion Co nanoparticles formation cobalt silicides.
